I’ve long wanted to try making my own seitan, ever since having the spicy setian hotwings at the Watercourse restaurant. In case you don’t know what seitan is, it’s basically wheat gluten also referred to as wheat meat.
I’d tried the store bought stuff and had it in a couple of other places, but never really got into it until I had those hotwings.
Well, last weekend I finally got around to trying my hand at making my own seitan by following the recipe at the Post Punk Kitchen. The recipe is pretty simple to make and ended up working really well as hotwings, but also performed extremely well on the grill. So far seitan is the best meat substitute I’ve used on the grill.
This one is one of my new favorites.
