I run Ubuntu as my desktop.
I have multiple Google Accounts.
I don’t want to have a bunch of browser windows open to deal with different IM accounts and calendars.
All of this works great on my phone.
So I thought, “why not run Android on my laptop and use the same apps that seem to work well on the phone?”
Well, it seems to work. I installed Genymotion and followed the excellent instructions on getting the Google Play store installed on “virtual phone”.
Now I’m happily running the excellent Cal and enjoying a single IM interface via the Android Hangouts. Oh, and yes, even the camera seems to work just fine.
I think it’s very sad that google can’t provide some tools or, even better, chrome extension that can deal with multiple accounts.
